Dacorum Healthcare Providers Ltd (DHPL)

DHPL is the provider organisation for the Dacorum GP Federation. The organisation was established in 2014 to enhance the delivery of healthcare services to 162.000 patients within Dacorum. The GP practices in Dacorum came together with the aim to create improved community based services that are of a high quality, efficient, convenient, reliable and safe.  Since then there has been growth and development within the Federation and a variety of innovative projects have been launched further details of which can be found in the Teams section of this website.

DHPL's Board meet on a monthly basis to discuss ongoing issues and projects.  We currently have 3 GPs and 3 Practice Managers on the board who represent their colleagues in Dacorum.  You can read more about our Board Members on this page https://www.dhpltd.net/our-dhpl-board-membership

What is a GP Federation?

A federation is a group of GP practices/surgeries forming an organisational entity and working together within the local health economy.

Why form a GP Federation?

Working together, local GPs can shape services to best suit their patients' needs and provide enhanced health care services 'at scale' for patients in the wider local area.

GP Federations can submit bids to deliver services within primary care and provide economies of scale, improving the quality and safety of services through service integration between practices and providers.

This model is supported in NHS England's NHS Five Year Forward View.
