DHPL are aware of the responsibilities to service users, patients, carers, staff and volunteers who require support from interpretation or translation services.
It is our intention to ensure that everyone accessing the services provided have equal access to patient care by helping staff to understand patients and service users health care needs. This enables compliance with legislation and Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations and other standards.
All staff are signposted to information and policies in their induction period and are compliant in this area.
In Dacorum interpreters are all booked through one central organisation provided by the ICB. Patients requiring British Sign Language are booked through the secretaries at the patients registered GP Surgery.
