How to book an Extended Access appointment:

What do we provide?:

The Dacorum Extended Access service provides GP appointments for patients during the evening, weekends and Bank Holidays.  You need to be registered at a Dacorum GP as you can only book appointments through your GP or via 111.

Hubs/Locations/Parking/Maps:

Appointments are offered at the following venues:

Hemel Hempstead Hospital (go to the Urgent Care Reception), there is very limited parking at this site so please park at Asda if you cannot find a space.

Highfield Surgery, Cambrian Way, HP2 5TA, there is limited parking at this site but it is usually possible to park.

Kings Langley Surgery, The Nap, Kings Langley, WD4 8ET, disabled parking only.

The New Surgery, St Peters House, Church Yard, Tring, HP23 5AE, please access the surgery via the public car park near the shops.

What to expect at my appointment:

You will be seen by a competent and experienced GP who will be able to view your medical record from your regular practice (you will be asked for consent when you book the appointment).  The GP you see will be able to request:

  1. Blood Tests

  2. Referrals to be completed by your surgery

  3. Scans

  4. Any other requests can be sent to your surgery for action.

How to book an appointment:

Please call the surgery you are registered with to book an appointment.  If you are trying to see a GP at your practice but there are no appointments you should be offered an Extended Access Appointment.  If you aren't offered an appointment please ask as all the surgeries have access to this service.

How to cancel an appointment:

If you find that you no longer need your appointment or you cannot attend the appointment you have booked, please call your GP practice if they are open or the dedicated Extended Access cancellation line which is 07864 652026.
